Tokyo International Airport (?????? Tokyo Kokusai Kuko?), commonly known as Haneda Airport (???? Haneda Kuko?) (IATA: HND, ICAO: RJTT), is one of the two primary airports serving the Greater Tokyo Area. It is located in Ota, Tokyo, 14 km (8.7 mi) south of Tokyo Station, Japan.
Although Haneda was originally the primary airport for the Tokyo region, it now shares that role with Narita International Airport. Haneda handles almost all domestic flights to and from Tokyo while Narita handles the vast majority of international flights. In 2010, a dedicated international terminal was opened at Haneda in conjunction with the completion of a fourth runway. This allowed for a dramatic increase in international flights going to Haneda, which previously had only "scheduled charter" flights to Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taipei. The Japanese government plans to further expand Haneda's international role in the future.
Haneda handled 62,100,754 passengers in 2009. By passenger throughput, it was the second busiest airport in Asia and the fifth busiest in the world, after Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, London Heathrow, Beijing's International Airport and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. It is the primary base of Japan's two major domestic airlines, Japan Airlines (Terminal 1) and All Nippon Airways (Terminal 2), as well as low-cost carriers Hokkaido International Airlines, Skymark Airlines, Skynet Asia Airways, and StarFlyer. Haneda is able to handle 90 million passengers with its expansion in 2010.
In December 2009, ForbesTraveller.com recognized Haneda Airport as the 1st most punctual airport in the world with 94.3% of its flights departing on time, while 88.6% arriving ontime. It was the second year record in a row

Day 1: early flight from hong kong to tokyo... this journey is always so tiring.. early rising.. just over 3 hours' flight... and then over an hour to get into tokyo city
I FORGOT MY SUNGLASSES!!! how could i have done that :( so i had to buy some new ones at the narita airport. Took the local express train into town. Checked in our hotel and a little welcome gift waitng for our arrival ;)
Then we ventured out to our usual toy store at Ueno (too many toys shots)... found a little eatery nearby, which is not closed yet, had some simple rice bowls. Stopped at some game arcade.. and failed to rescue Rilakkuma!! :(
